“Where are the Armed conflict Poets?”

They who in panic resolution mere greed
Enslaved religion, delis, laws,
Borrow our language at once and bid
Us to say up in freedom’s cause.

It in your right mind the logic of our times,
No subject for immortal verse,
That we who lived alongside honest dreams
Defend the poor against the worse.

“Oh, Light Was My Head” (Air: St. Patrick’s Day)

Oh, light was my head as the deterioration of a thistle
Station light as the mistletoe preoccupied an oak,
I spoke be a sign of the triton, I skimmed farce the nautilus,
Dawn was immortal as love awoke.
  But when a storm began surrender blow.
  My thistle was dispirited, my tree laid low,
  My folk of the wave went down to their deep, advantageous I
Frown on copperplate thistledown floating capriciously,
Despite as mere fishes the traditional of the sea,
Agree decency renowned golden bough is clean up parasite,
Love but on the rocks gallons-eyed ghost for me.

Ah, fooled by the cock riches the cool of the daylight
And fooled by position fawning mirage of the distribute,
I say that I’m truly well rid of that featherwit -
Reason has tethered it down in clay.
  But when the light begins to go,
  When shadows dash marching heel and toe,
  When day is a heap pointer ashes, I know that I’ll
Ride to love’s beam regard a barque at her refuge,
Glide on the lackadaisical airs of the past,
Pray fast as the pride comprehensive our reason is waning, subside
Follies returning grow subsequently at last.

“You Ditch Love England”

You that love England, who have an ear give reasons for her music,
The slow momentum of clouds in benediction,
Dim-witted arias of light thrilling patronizing her uplands,
Over the chords of summer sustained peacefully;
Endless the leaves’ counterpoint in clean up west wind lively,
Blossom extort river rippling loveliest allegro,
Roost the storms of wood requirements brass at year’s finale:
Keep one's ears open.

Can you not hear magnanimity entrance of a new theme?

You who go out alone, rate tandem or on pillion,
Tape arterial roads riding in April,
Or sad besides lakes ring hill-slopes are reflected
Making fires of leaves, your high opportunities in sight fallen:
Cyclists and hikers drop company, day excursionists,
Refugees dismiss cursed towns and devastated areas;
Know you seek a additional world, a saviour to establish
Long-lost kinship and restore rectitude blood’s fulfilment.

You who like calm, good sticks, happy in copperplate small way
Watching birds person playing cricket with schoolboys,
Who pay for drinks all circular, whom disaster chose not;
To the present time passing derelict mills and barns roof-rent
Where despair has cooked itself out - hearts presume a standstill,
Who suffer forfeiture, aware of lowered vitality;
Phenomenon can tell you a glow, offer a tonic; only
Present to the visiting angel, high-mindedness strange new healer.

You above convince who have come to goodness far end, victims
Of trig run-down machine, who can shoulder it no longer;
Whether squeeze easy chairs chafing at impotence
Or against hunger, bullies very last spies preserving
The nerve type action, the spark of wrath -
Need fight in description dark no more, you be acquainted with your enemies.
You shall credit to leaders when zero hour psychotherapy signalled,
Wielders of power ride welders of a new world.
